Downtown + Donuts - a summer morning shoot with Hillary + Davis in Atlanta | Atlanta Engagement Photographer
It’s always so fun to head back my home state, Georgia! I was there for a weekend in May and got to soak up some 95-degree weather + a lot of laughs with Hillary and Davis. I had mentioned that I was REALLY interested in shooting at a donut shop, so when Hillary + Davis said they were game I knew exactly where I wanted to take them. We went to Revolution Donuts - my favorite donut shop of all time! I loved getting to capture some frames here in a way that felt very “day in the life.” Who knew Sunday breakfasts could be so photogenic!
Next we went to the famous Jackson St. Bridge for the best view of the Atlanta skyline. One thing I love about Atlanta is that it simultaneously has this small-town feel, even against the backdrop of a big city skyline. Looking at these buildings, I can internally “zoom in” and pin point a few of my favorite coffee shops + restaurants that I know are nestled at the ground floor of these skyscrapers.
Our last stop was a rooftop with the Centennial Park Ferris Wheel behind. The rooftop I had in mind was closed, but thanks to a resourceful + optimistic attitude shared between the three of us, we soon found a replacement (and I may even like it more than the one I had planned to shoot at!).
Davis + Hillary were so much fun to be around. They were both super animated, full of energy + had this playfulness about them that was contagious! They’re about to move into their first apartment together and I can’t wait to see a few of these photos printed + hung around their new place. Exploring downtown Atlanta never gets old, but exploring it with new friends is even better.
